We are all painfully aware of the steady moral and societal decline in Philippine Society.  Most of us want a better country for our children but we do not know how to begin to get there.  Everything seems hopeless and overwhelming. PAGASA (Peoples Assembly for Genuine Alternatives to Social Apathy) has been working hard to understand the interrelated causes of our seemingly impossible situation. It is clear to us that the problems and conflicts in our country are systemic and directly related to our ingrained and outdated mental models of reality as well as our inner deterioration as individuals. In addition, it is of great concern that we are starting to lose touch with our spiritual core; that very part of ourselves which alerts us to the corruption and injustice around us and has the power to recreate our selves and our society. These inner challenges then become collectively magnified to create the oppressive societal structures we now suffer from.

It is this realization that inspired us to develop a workshop module that aims to integrate our inner and outer lives. We are confident it will create a comprehensive, systemic view of the true present state of our country and enable us to concretely achieve authentic and lasting change in society through our inner strivings as individuals. Already, this hope has been confirmed by the individuals who have taken the workshop and who have now been inspired to view themselves, their family, and their work within the larger context of creating a visionary Philippines and a better world. As such, we know that the situation is far from hopeless and we all have what it takes to turn things around, provided we awaken to our true inner power to create new realities and unite our unique identities to create the visionary Philippines that we have all been dreaming of.

To begin this daunting but doable and exciting program, we have begun identifying people all over the country who have been struggling to birth the Philippines of moral and spiritual integrity.  We know these people, like you, are there. We have met them in many walks of life, but they have not yet come together in the great task of creating a better country on the basis of a profound process of inner transformation. With PAGASA’s workshop offerings, we hope to create a critical mass of Filipinos who will awaken and come together to transform their institutions and our country for the better and usher in a new and unprecedented era of Philippine excellence, peace, and prosperity.
